Darren Throop has been Chairman of the Board since June 2021 and Director of the Company since June 2015. Mr. Throop is a Canadian entrepreneur whose leadership has reshaped the global entertainment industry. He began his career in 1991 by founding Urban Sound Exchange and later expanded into music distribution through strategic acquisitions. In 2001, he became CEO of ROW Entertainment, taking the company public in 2003 and rebranding it as Entertainment One (eOne). Under Mr. Throop’s leadership, eOne grew into a powerhouse in film, television, and music, fueled by key acquisitions and partnerships. In 2007, he orchestrated the company’s listing on London’s Alternative Investment Market, securing funding for further expansion. In 2019, he led the $4 billion sale of eOne to Hasbro, remaining as CEO until 2022. Today, he directs a global music rights investment fund, continuing his commitment to content ownership.

Mr. Throop is a dedicated philanthropist and has received numerous accolades, including induction into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame (2015) and appointment as a Member of the Order of Canada (2019). He is a member of both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and The Television Academy.
